AUDAC WMI16/B
Description
The WMI16 is a wall microphone input device that can be used in combination with AUDAC MTX series multi-zone audio matrix systems, the RM523 & AMP523 web-based input control units and the APG20 receiver gateway. It provides the ability to transmit an audio signal from a microphone-level audio source over a long distance using a standard CAT5e UTP (or better) cable.
The connection is made via an RJ45 plug on the back of the device. Due to the depth of the RJ45 connector, the WMI16 cannot be installed in surface-mounted boxes. A jumper on the back of the device allows 12V phantom power to be activated to power condenser microphones. Audio transmission occurs differentially with increased voltage levels, making the transmitted signal insensitive to interference and noise generated by external devices. This enables distances of up to 500 meters to be bridged between the input unit and the receiving side.
The WMI16 is the 45 x 45 mm version of the WMI units that can be used in combination with standard AUDAC, Niko, Legrand or other 45 x 45 mm installation materials. Available in black (/B) and white (/W).
